YMCA of Downtown Manchester

I've been a member for the last three months - 4-5 workouts per week. I really like the weight room - well organized and has what I need. The pool is fine - I really wish there was a second pace clock at the far end of the pool. The locker rooms are good - a bit tired but clean. What makes this place is the staff. Friendly and helpful. The team in the weight room is especially good. They will correct my form when correction is needed (which is often!). Highly recommended.

Daycare is the worst. My 5 year old had attended since she was 1. We didn't have problems until the latest director took over. My daughter has an IEP and is developmentally delayed. At first, daycare was wonderful and the teachers there were very helpful, but not since the latest director took over. My daughter was miserable and hated going there. She told me she was yelled at, hit, and scared to go to daycare. We spent months in agony. Director and all her new, ever-changing staff ignored her needs and sensory issues. Tried to force her to swim instead of doing other activities per request due to "low staffing." Traumatized my daughter and didn't accommodate her IEP. Director was rude and judgemental. She should not be working with children or parents for that matter. They ended up kicking my daughter out of school because my husband tried calling them out. After a few months, we moved to Florida and the school has been wonderful witg my daughter. They have been working with us to develop a plan and ESE director identified an appropriate placement. They schedule meetings with us and work with us to accommodate her needs and IEP. With their help, we were able to get our child the help she needs. She loves school (even though she is behind because all the time we wasted on YMCA) and they are getting her back on track. A happy child is truly the best gift ever. Shame on the YMCA to hire and keep their current director who should have been fired after all the issues we had as well as the wrongful termination of the wonderful teacher my daughter had there who was willing to work with her. All the other great teachers left and fled to another daycare together. What does that say? But the director didn't have anything to say about all the negative reviews here or the negative things these teachers said. All she said was "disgruntled employees" and tried to blame me and my husband for my daughter being scared of daycare. All we have ever done is love and try to get the best care for our child. Get rid of the current director and save all the other children and parents from her poor direction. More lawsuits will come. You cannot always pay your way out of these things. Bet no one knows about the lawsuit either. Get your children out!

Love the gym, love the pool, I love doing laps, the only I hate, the jacuzzi are is closed because of covid, well covid is over, and that big area of relestate is empty..... I hate going to the pool and you can't use it because of the kids program.. Well that empty space should be built for a kids pool then the big pool don't have to be shut down

If you are ever looking for child care please DO NOT GO HERE they are the worst people ever they have no degrees , are really unprofessional they called me more than 3 times telling me that my kid will have to get evaluated for being a child because the supervisor of child care herself said that she thought he can have some ADHD or he was having hearing problems just because he did not wanted to take his nap time, He went for evaluation thru the state and everything came out perfect the result end up in being the environment and his care providers and is sad they way they can just have no empathy to us parents talking about our babies that way unstead of checking up on them to see if they are going thru changes or something happen to them , they are suppose to be there to help and be a leader. Sad but true 100 NOT RECOMMENDED
